Our goal in 2019 is to raise funds for the following activities

Our lunch programs hope to serve young children, providing them with a hot lunch using products from local farmers and local labor.

In 2018, Friends of Southern Haiti, Inc. supported two farmers by providing each with funds, which they were to match in order to purchase seeds, PVC pipe and a diesel pump to bring water from the nearby river to irrigate their crops. Friends of Southern Haiti, Inc.  will support poor farmers and entrepreneurs (stand sellers), who are excluded from the formal financial system in Southern Haiti to help them break the cycle of poverty.

At FSH, we believe that civil society is the cornerstone of good governance and strong democracies. As such, our approach centers on empowering people, promoting social action, and implementing voluntary and community service that have a positive impact on the communities of southern Haiti. We know that communities in which young people do not have opportunities to even dream of a better future are in great danger.

Friends of Southern Haiti, Inc. engages in service trips designed to provide relief to the poor, distressed and underprivileged of southern Haiti. Such service trips are organized and undertaken by its volunteer boards of directors.  These annual service trips also keep the U.S. partners connected to the people we serve.
